Gabriella “Gabby” Davis serves as Director of the Mississippi Migrant Education Service Center (MMESC). She began her career with the Migrant Education Program in 2007 as a recruiter and was promoted to Identification and Recruitment Coordinator in 2009, where she successfully led the recruitment team and strengthened the program’s outreach efforts. In 2016, she was appointed Director of MMESC and served in that role until her retirement in 2020. Demonstrating her continued commitment to the program and the students it serves, Mrs. Davis returned in 2023 to once again serve as Director, where she leads the implementation of the program’s vision and works to ensure that migrant students are positioned for academic success.
Mrs. Davis is a cum laude graduate and member of Phi Kappa Phi from Mississippi State University, where she earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Foreign Languages, with a minor in Technology. A native of Mexico, she is fluent in both Spanish and English. She also holds national certification as an Occupational Spanish Instructor through the IACET-authorized program, Command Spanish, Inc. Prior to joining the Migrant Education Program, Mrs. Davis taught Spanish at Webster County Schools for fourteen years. Following her retirement, she continued her passion for teaching by instructing Spanish at Starkville Academy for a couple of years.
