Maggie Villarroel serves as the Program Manager for the Mississippi Migrant Education Service Center (MMESC). She works hand in hand with recruiters to identify and welcome eligible migrant students into the program, helping connect families with valuable educational opportunities and resources.
Originally from Venezuela, Maggie is fluent in both Spanish and English. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Mississippi University for Women, and a Master of Arts in Foreign Languages from Mississippi State University.
Maggie joined the Migrant Education Program team in October 2017 and has truly enjoyed being part of a program that touches the lives of so many families. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to connect with migrant families, learn about their experiences, and be a part of their children's educational journey. Serving the migrant community in Mississippi is more than just her job; it is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference, and one she is grateful for every day.
